Daniel El Dragon

Using the story of Quetzalcoatl as a visual metaphor, I use the image of the dragon to commemorate the death of my grandfather, Daniel. The work draws parallels between Quetzalcoatl’s betrayal and my grandfather’s own experience of being betrayed by someone he considered a brother and best friend. Both Quetzalcoatl and Daniel got burned alive, Quetzalcoatl by his own hands and Daniel by his friend.
